Photographer Guest Speaker: Nancy Ori
Lecture: Light, Shadow and Form
“Photography is all about light and where there is light, there is shadow. Where there is shadow there is form. This lecture is designed to help you see and compose your favorite subjects better by understanding how light and shadow creates the structure of your image and clarifies your subject for the viewer. The lecture is filled with information and illustrations to define our topics along with tips on how to integrate them into your photographs for more impact. Learning to see the quality, quantity and direction of light and how that relates to shadow and great composition will be at the core.” – Nancy Ori
Nancy J. Ori obtained a BA degree in Fine Arts from Elmira College, Elmira, NY where she became increasingly interested in film and photography. She received an MS degree in Visual Communications from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
Ori, owner of New Jersey Media Center, LLC in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, is respected internationally as an industrial photographer and video producer for almost 40 years. She also enjoys teaching photography and painting workshops each year throughout the United States and Europe. Nancy was affiliated for many years with the Ansel Adams Workshop in California and in New Jersey is currently on the faculty of numerous museums and art centers as well as teaches privately.
She worked for 25 years for Ciba Geigy Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Pharmaceuticals as their in-house corporate photographer and then as manager of Video and Photography Services.
