March 1, 2013 • 8PM Dual Bill: Matt Wong •
Blue Jersey Band

Teenage guitar virtuoso MATT WONG from West Windsor has
toured the tri-state area, released a solo album, and has been nominated
for Top 18 & Under Instrumentalist in this year’s Jersey Acoustic Music
Awards. Matt picked up the guitar at age six and has been playing ever since. He currently focuses on playing what he calls, “fingerstyle,” which allows
him to hold down the melody, rhythm, and bass parts simultaneously, while
adding a little percussion. Using fingerstyle, Matt has composed several
originals and has also arranged a number of well known songs. His originals
are Jazz based, but also include elements of Blues, Rock, Country and
Classical music.
Wong has performed at Indie Music Night in Princeton, Art All Night in
Trenton, and has played concerts at venues such as Milkboy Coffee in
Ardmore, PA, The Fire in Philadelphia, and the Record Collector Store in
Bordentown, NJ. He has also appeared with Jazz group Rebop, and has shared
the stage with Taylor Hope, Nikki Briar, Writer’s Block, Sarah Donner,
Kelly Carvin, and Wakah Chan.
Wong’s debut album Fly me to the Moon, with its popular track Summertime Skies, was released in 2011.
