Planning MEETING FOR 2013-2014

Public Works Water & Sewer Utility Building
Municipal Complex, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction

To All SBCC Members:
Our Camera Club 2012-2013 year was a great advance as current and new members all helped to define who we are as a camera club. We had many quality guest speakers sharing their professional expertise in their specific niche of photography.
Nick Palmeri: Shared his approach to capturing more dynamic images and his photo techniques that will improve your sense of composition and exposure for an awesome final image.
Brien Szabo: Laid out his approach to Planning, Researching and Preparation for outdoor nature location shoots from the Pine Barrens of New Jersey to the rocky shore of Maine.
Douglas Goodell: Showed how he creates mural size Hi-Res panoramas mosaic landscapes and the the equipment and applications necessary to make your own panoramas.
Nancy Ori: Explained her perspective on how to create greater visual dimensionality in your composition by understanding “Light, Shadow and Form” .
Tom Icklan: Demonstrated how we can take a digital photo file and create a digital painting in Photoshop CS5-6 application working with PS “Mixed Brushes.”
Last and certainly not least, Brian Van Liew, Astronomer Photographer: showed his work that took us on ride around the universe looking different galaxies we’ve never been. Brian also took us through the whole process and the equipment needed to capture our farthest dreams.
The highlight of the year was the South Brunswick Camera Club and Princeton Camera Club joint photography show at the ArtWay Gallery. It was also sad because it was the last gallery show at the Princeton Alliance Church in Plainsboro, NJ.  It was a show planned for over a year ago to honor our past camera club president Vera Schwartz passing. It was an impressive  showing for both elite camera clubs in Central New Jersey.
Now at our last meeting of the year, I ask all of you to come and share what what you liked and didn’t so we can improve and provide what your interests are for your photography skills.
I will be stepping down as Camera Club President and will continue to be a major contributor and organizer through the South Brunswick Arts Commission. My goal is to provide the best support for the SBCC.
All members will need to step up at the plate and take part to continue the forward growth and future for our talented group of photographers who benefit from our existence.
Next year I will be planning more opportunities for all of you to participate in photography shows within our area.
It is important for each member to be present at this next meeting June 5th
Bill Hoo
